McElwain Ward provides inpatient facilities for children aged 1 to 16. It has 18 beds including a dedicated room for radioisotope therapy. The ward also offers a full range of treatments including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, phase I and II clinical trials, MIBG therapy and stem cell transplant.

Facilities are available for parents to stay on the ward and there is a kitchen and lounge area for families.
